As Prayer Progresses So Do We

Some of our best prayers don't come from us, they come through us. Prayer begins by asking God for things (help, health, miracles, etc.) It's where we all begin. By the grace of God, we don't stay there.

If we persist, we begin to suspect Something Else is going on when we pray. The grief, discontent, and yearning that causes us to approach God in prayer, also originates with God. The Creating One is creating still and the New Creation is being formed through us.

God isn't a cosmic vending machine waiting for the right combination of words, faith, and intentions before releasing what we ask. God is the Source of Life seeking people who will become conduits of God's Love & Compassion.

"I screamed at God for all the starving children, and then I realized that all of the starving children were God screaming at me."

I don't know who said this first, but they were someone who practiced prayer long enough to become a Person of Hope.

Look! I'm doing a new thing; now it sprouts up; don't you recognize it? I'm making a way in the desert, paths in the wilderness.

Isaiah 43:19

Question:

What new thing is God creating through you?
