Role at New Hope:

Youth Director

How Long Have I Been at New Hope?

I have been the Youth Director for 3 years.

What did I do before I came to New Hope?

I worked full time for my father-in-law's architecture firm. I also volunteered in Area 56 and in the youth group at New Hope.

Where I grew up:

Atlanta, Georgia

Family

Married to Tommy since 1998, we have 3 children and 1 dog.

Where is your favorite spot in Colorado?

I wish I could share New Hope with everyone in Castle Rock because, it is the one place that feels like family in Colorado. We do LOVE well and our community is amazing.

What is your favorite scripture?

Romans 12:6-8 "We have different gifts that are consistent with God's grace that has been given to us. If your gift is phophecy, you should prophesy in proportion to your faith. If you gift is service, devote yourself to serving. If your gift is teaching, devote yourself to teaching. If your gift is encouragement, devote yourself to encouraging. The one giving should do it with no strings attached. The leader should lead with passion. The one showing mercy should be cheerful."

If you could have dinner with anyone (past, present, or future) who would it be and why?

It would be Reese Witherspoon, she inspires me as a woman to go after what you want. Plus, she is southern like me so I know we would end up being best friends. Afterall, I named my last child afer her.

What I Love About New Hope/What I like the most about what I do:

What I enjoy most about being the youth director is getting to know the students and their families. I have known many of these kids since 3rd or 4th grade and it's amazing seeing them become young adults. One of my favorite times of the year is the mission trip and watching many of our youth go into places that make them uncomfortable, I can't tell you how many times a student makes me cry (happy tears) and gives me a glimpse of who they are, where there is and how far they have grown into their faith. It is an amazing journey being there for our students.
