Volunteering with New Hope Kids

Thank you for your heart to serve with New Hope Kids! Whether you're helping with Sunday mornings, special events, or big adventures like Vacation Bible School, your role makes a lasting impact in the lives of children and families.

As a volunteer, you are not just filling a spot—you are helping create a safe, loving, and faith-filled space where kids can discover who God is and how much He loves them. This training is designed to equip you with everything you need to feel confident and prepared, from safety practices and age-specific tips to classroom routines and relationship-building strategies.

We’re so grateful you’ve chosen to be part of this ministry. Let’s make this a place where kids feel known, loved, and excited to grow in faith—together!

Before volunteering you must meet with Ms. Allie, our director of children and family ministry to discuss where you want to volunteer. Then you will need to complete our volunteer training and background checks. Full information below.

Where you can Volunteer with New Hope Kids

What really matters:
  • Sharing your faith and joy with kids.
  • Creating a safe and loving place where kids can learn about God.
  • Embracing questions—no one has to know all the answers.
  • Having fun while teaching Bible stories through crafts, cooking, science, games, and more!

A few worries you can set aside:
  • You don’t need to be a Bible expert.
  • You don’t have to have every answer.
  • You’ll receive tools for teaching—including classroom management.
  • You are never alone—we work as a team!

What does it mean to be a Teacher?
  1. Build meaningful relationships and play an important role in a child’s faith journey. The biggest gift you bring is helping kids feel safe, loved, and connected.
  1. The curriculum is already chosen, edited, and sent to you in advance. It’s fun, simple, and designed to help kids engage with the Bible and God’s love.
  1. All supplies are prepped and ready—no need to bring or prepare anything.
  1. Think of it like baking: the recipe (lesson) and ingredients (supplies) are provided—you simply bring it all together with God to make something meaningful!

What does it mean to be an Assistant?
  1. Just like teachers, you’ll build relationships and help create special memories for kids simply by showing up and caring.
  1. Support the teacher by helping with supplies, labeling projects, and encouraging kids to participate.
  1. Help kids with crafts or activities, chat with them about the story, and make sure every child feels seen and included.

Event Committee
  • We meet two times before each event:
  • First meeting: brainstorm ideas and share responsibilities.
  • Second meeting: check in, support one another, and finalize details.
  • Annual events (flexible and open to change):
  • Trunk or Treat
  • Cozy Christmas
  • Easter Egg Hunt
  • Meetings are scheduled for Sunday afternoons or right after church to make things easier for everyone.
  • Together we’ll plan crafts, food, decorations, volunteer recruitment, and community outreach.
